Description

Christmas Fair Isle - Three-Color Crochet Blanket Pattern

Snowflakes, reindeer, Christmas trees, bells and ribboned gifts form festive horizontal bands in red, forest green and ivory, framed by matching stripes.

Choose Overlay Mosaic Crochet or Tapestry Crochet. Each complete PDF contains two alternatives: CUT and NO-CUT. Follow one method from Row 1 to the final row.

PATTERN SPECIFICATIONS
- Colors: A red; B green; C ivory.
- Overlay Mosaic: 380 chart stitches x 571 rows, including the green closing row.
- Tapestry: 380 chart stitches x 570 rows.
- Add 2 side stitches at each end: 384 worked stitches per row.
- English instructions, US crochet terms and right-handed directions.
- The Overlay Mosaic version uses red/green in-row color changes with a carried background strand, alternating with ivory rows. Its local details are adapted to overlay stitch construction. Follow its own chart and preview.
- Tapestry preserves the original three-color grid and carries both inactive strands inside the stitches.
- For makers comfortable with the selected technique and in-row color changes.

WHAT IS INCLUDED
- Overlay Mosaic: 157-page complete PDF, 72 enlarged chart sheets, stitch keys, setup and complete CUT / NO-CUT written rows. CUT begins on page 78; NO-CUT begins on page 118.
- Tapestry: 131-page complete PDF, 72 enlarged chart sheets, stitch keys, setup and complete CUT / NO-CUT written rows. CUT begins on page 78; NO-CUT begins on page 105.
- Separate one-page charts for both techniques, for zoom viewing.
- A Tips & Yarn Estimation PDF with dedicated measuring panels, three-color yarn calculations, size formulas and border instructions.
- An offline yarn and size calculator, two color previews, and English/Chinese starting guides.

YARN REQUIREMENTS
Use a separate measured sample for the chosen technique and method. Weigh red, green and ivory separately; the inactive carried strands consume yarn too. Pixel-area percentages are not yarn percentages.
The guide starts with a 20 x 20 body panel, deducts loose tails and lifting-chain use, and then adds side-stitch allowance, the actual foundation/lifting-chain counts, repeated CUT tails when applicable, an adjustable ivory border allowance and 10% reserve.

ILLUSTRATIVE CALCULATION
These example inputs are not measured requirements for a yarn category: net panel A 3 g, B 3 g, C 4 g; all yarns 300 m / 100 g; 100 g balls; B/C chain lengths 3 m per 100 chains; CUT tails 15 cm per end; 12% ivory envelope-border allowance and 10% reserve.
- Mosaic CUT: A approx. 1,844 g (19 x 100 g balls); B approx. 1,851 g (19 x 100 g balls); C approx. 3,166 g (32 x 100 g balls).
- Mosaic NO-CUT: A approx. 1,813 g (19 x 100 g balls); B approx. 1,823 g (19 x 100 g balls); C approx. 3,138 g (32 x 100 g balls).
- Tapestry CUT: A approx. 1,869 g (19 x 100 g balls); B approx. 1,879 g (19 x 100 g balls); C approx. 3,193 g (32 x 100 g balls).
- Tapestry NO-CUT: A approx. 1,806 g (19 x 100 g balls); B approx. 1,823 g (19 x 100 g balls); C approx. 3,130 g (32 x 100 g balls).
Replace these inputs with your own sample measurements and yarn labels. Round each color up separately to whole balls. Side-stitch and border allowances are estimates and can be refined with extra samples.

FINISHED DIMENSIONS
Width including side stitches = 384 x your 20-stitch panel width / 20. Height = 571 (Mosaic) or 570 (Tapestry) x your 20-row panel height / 20. The outside border is additional.
If the panel measures 10 x 10 cm, the body is approximately 192 x 285.5 cm (75.6 x 112.4 in) for Mosaic or 192 x 285 cm (75.6 x 112.2 in) for Tapestry. Your actual stitch proportions may differ.

YARN AND HOOK STARTING POINTS
Fine / Sport: 280-320 m / 100 g; hook 3.5-4.0 mm.
DK / Light Worsted: 210-250 m / 100 g; hook 4.0-4.5 mm.
Aran / Worsted: 160-190 m / 100 g; hook 5.0-5.5 mm.
Choose the final hook from your swatch and desired drape.
