The chart uses colored grid squares. A–G codes appear in the color keys, row cards and compact written instructions. Use the boxed instructions if you prefer full color names.
Written color runs specify how many consecutive blocks to work in each shade. Row totals, RS/WS labels and direction notes help you track your place. Pattern notes identify the increase, rectangular middle and decrease sections.

The chart pack uses A3 pages. The three written formats use US Letter pages. Read the PDFs digitally or print selected pages. Use a color display or color printing when following the chart. Scaling A3 pages to smaller paper will reduce the size of the squares and labels.
